Preparations for 2021

Well the weather gods have decided to smile on the Sunday 9th of August this year and I know we would have had a great show, unfortunately we still have the dreaded pandemic causing restrictions for Pendle and the country.

We now start the preparations for 2021, it will be a challenge as there have been no agricultural shows this year and the financial impact on business’s that support the show calendar have yet to be fully understood along with the long term effect of Covid-19 also has to be taken in to account.

This being said with the support of everyone we will plan to come back with a bang and put 2019 / 2020 behind us and make the 8th August 2021 a date that’s a must for everyone’s diary.

Trawden & District Agricultural Society

Vicar Pam…

The Trawden & District Agricultural Society is saddened to learn of the passing of Vicar Pam recently.

As a long term supporter of our Show, her input at Committee meetings and her animal blessings were a cardinal part of our Show; the appearance of her ‘stuffed cow’ at her blessings raised many eyebrows along with many smiles.

Her remembrance was marked at our last meeting with a moment of silence to reflect on her legacy.

She will be sadly missed by all at Trawden Show

The Craft Section Goes On!

You may have heard about the sad cancellation of the Show due to the state of the ground following incessant rain over the last few days.

THE JUNIOR SECTION IS STILL GOING AHEAD. We do not want to disappoint your children who have been spending time making things for the Show.

1. Please still bring your entries for 9.30. There will be no entry fee to the ground.

2. Do not attempt to drive onto the show ground to deliver anything; you may well get stuck. Please park on the Rec car park or the car park immediately opposite that entrance.

3. We will judge entries as normal.

4. We shall bring crafts and activities for children to do. You can leave and come back for results or stay and do things. The Fell race is still happening.

5. We shall finish about 12.00 with presentation of trophies. Items can then be collected

Thank you for your continuing support of the Trawden Show.

Trawden Show 2019 Cancelled!

Unfortunately folks the weather has got the better of us….

With the relentless weather we’ve had throughout yesterday and today, the Showfield conditions have deteriorated so we have decided to cancel this year’s Trawden Show.

We’re sure you can appreciate a lot of volunteers’ time (since last October!) and money is invested in putting on a local Show however we feel this decision is in the best interests of all involved.

Tickets for Vice President’s Tent will still go ahead.
So will judging for Craft entries; there will obviously be no charge for attending for the craft tent tomorrow.

Trawden AC fell races will still go ahead as planned, please read their post at www.facebook.com/TrawdenAC/

IMPORTANT Please contact the section secretaires to discuss refunds.

Please share this information to inform others.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Show in August 2020… Mr Weatherman has 12 months to work on giving us sunshine!
